MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers will take place from February 20 through February 25 across four venues in Central America and the Caribbean to determine six nations that will advance to the Concacaf U-20 Women’s Championship.

What

The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers will be the 13th edition of the tournament. It consists of two rounds, the first one being the Women’s Qualifiers, to determine the four Concacaf representatives at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Who

The nations that will take part in the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers are:

Group A: Haiti, Guyana, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda

Group B: Puerto Rico, El Salvador, Honduras, U.S. Virgin Islands

Group C: Dominican Republic, Panama, Cuba, Bonaire

Group D: Jamaica, Nicaragua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saints Vincent and the Grenadines

Group E: Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Bermuda, Dominica

Group F: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Cayman Islands, Aruba

When

The 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Qualifiers will kick off on February 20 and conclude on February 25.

Where

Matches will be divided across four venues:

·       Antigua and Barbuda will host Group A

·       The Dominican Republic will host Groups B and C.

·       Nicaragua will host Group D.

·       Trinidad and Tobago will host Groups E and F.

History

This will be the 13th edition of the tournament. The first one was played in the U-19 category and held in Trinidad and Tobago in 2002, where there was no Champion. In 2004, the tournament took place in Canada, still under the U-19 label.

The North Americas have dominated the U-20 Championships, as all the trophies have been between the three countries in that region.

The tournament received the official U-20 category in 2006, when it took place in Mexico, as the United States won its first trophy.

The United States has proven to be the most dominant team in this category, having seven trophies in their name, winning in 2006, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2020, and 2022.

Mexico and Canada are the other nations to reach the top of the podium. Mexico is the current champion and has two titles, winning in 2018 and 2023. Canada also has two titles, winning in 2004 (U-19) and 2008.

Format

The 2025 Concacaf U-20 Women’s Qualifiers will kick off February 20 through February 25, with 24 nations forming part of the qualifying round. After round-robin play, the first-place team from each group (six teams in total) will advance to the 2025 Concacaf U-20 Women’s Championship, joining the two pre-seeded top-ranked nations, the United States and Mexico, to determine the qualifying nations to the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

Qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup

The winner of the 2025 U-20 Concacaf Women’s Championship, the runner-up, and the third and fourth place teams will clinch a ticket to the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
