It was previously reported that Panathinaikos were in talks over a deal to sign Pellistri, with negotiations taking place over a four-year deal. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that the Uruguayan is close to leaving United.

Romano writes ‘almost there’ to suggest a deal is close between United and Panathinaikos for Pellistri.

It makes sense for Pellistri to move on because he is currently behind Amad Diallo, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho for a place in Ten Hag’s team.
