Speaking exclusively to The Guardian, RB Leipzig midfielder Amadou Haidara has reiterated that he’s “happy” at the Bundesliga club despite being linked heavily with a move to the Premier League in the summer with Manchester United and Newcastle United both interested.

“I have a few good friends playing there,” said Haidara. “But I’m at Leipzig and I’m working hard to continue my development. The matches in the Premier League are very intense. It’s always a good game, no matter which club plays. We’ll see what happens. But I’m happy at Leipzig.”

Under Domenico Tedesco, Haidara (24) struggled to break into the Leipzig squad despite an injury to Konrad Laimer. The Mali international played under current Leipzig head coach Marco Rose during their time together at RB Salzburg and Haidara has since established himself in the squad again, playing 11 games under Rose at Leipzig this season.
