Adrián Goransch’s career at América has suffered another setback after it was reported the the defender will have to undergo an operation.
Mexican journalist Jonatan Peña broke the news on Twitter, and indicated that the surgery could take place in Germany.
No further details were offered, though Goransch has been plagued by knee problems in recent years.
The 21-year-old was born in Puebla, but moved as a child with his family to Europe.
Goransch came up through the ranks at Wolfsburg, but injuries curtailed his opportunities with the Bundesliga club.
He left Die Wölfe at the end of last year, and subsequently signed with Las Águilas in January.
However, after being loaned out to Ascenso MX outfit Atlético Zacatepec for the Clausura, the youngster has yet to make a senior appearance in América colours.
