Roma fans have again jeered the players ahead of their Europa League match with Athletic Club, but Angelino insists they ‘feel stronger now.’

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

Daniele De Rossi was surprisingly fired eight days ago to bring in Ivan Juric, who made his debut with a 3-0 Serie A victory over Udinese.

That was their first win of the campaign, so did it boost their self-confidence?

“I think that we feel stronger now. We worked hard over the last few days and are going for the victory tonight,” Angelino told Sky Sport Italia.

The left-back was asked what are the biggest changes that new coach Juric has brought to the Giallorossi.

“We work with more intensity. I do want to send a salute to Daniele, though.”

Roma fans still hurling insults at players

If the players are moving on, then the same cannot be said for the fans, who continue to make their displeasure entirely clear.

Not only is the attendance for tonight’s Europa League match way down on recent figures, but once again the squad was loudly jeered during the warm-up.

The fans blame the players and club chiefs for the decisions to sack first Jose Mourinho in January and then Roma icon De Rossi.
