Lazio are left to sweat over the condition of Taty Castellanos who was forced to leave the pitch prematurely against Napoli.
The Argentine was in great form as of late, finding the back of the net in Cagliari before putting on a masterclass last weekend against Monza with two sublime assists and a strike. However, the 27-year-old had little time to shine against the Serie A leaders on Saturday, as his night was cut short with a knock.
Castellanos succumbed to an injury in the 28th minute, leaving his place on the pitch for Tijjani Noslin. The Biancocelesti went on to claim a well-deserved point on the back of a back-and-forth contest that ended in a 2-2 draw. However, their striker’s condition remains a great source of concern.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the club fears Castellanos suffered a muscle lesion. If confirmed, this injury would rule the former Girona striker out of action for circa 20 days. La Lazio Siamo Noi adds that the player will undergo medical tests on Monday to detect the extent of his injury, so we can expect Lazio to release a statement afterwards.
The same source adds that Elseid Hysaj will also join Castellanos for medical tests. The Albanian suffered a thigh injury in Cagliari a couple of weeks back, and initial results suggested he could be out for 40 days. Hence, the new medical checks should shed some light on his recovery path.
