Nico Williams remains very much a player that interests FC Barcelona despite the club’s failure to secure his signing last summer.
The 22-year-old Athletic Club winger’s name continues to feature on the Catalans’ transfer wishlist for the summer of 2025 as they seek a game-changing left winger.
However, the Blaugrana will not have it easy as the UEFA Euro 2024 winner is attracting a whole lot of interest from several other top clubs across Europe.
In fact, according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are weighing up a potential swoop for Nico Williams as early as the upcoming January transfer window.
The Gunners’ manager, Mikel Arteta, is said to be desperate for the signing of a new attacker, especially after the serious injury sustained by key man Bukayo Saka.

A number of names are being looked at by the north London club, with Nico very much on their radar. After all, the Athletic Club winger has been a long-term target for them.
However, the report states that Arsenal have some doubts about whether Nico, who has a release clause worth around £50 million in his contract at Athletic Club, would be willing to leave midway through the season.
Furthermore, reports in Spain have suggested that the young attacker might prefer a transfer to Barcelona and has already been sending signals about a possible move in the summer of 2025, after the operation collapsed last time out.
Apart from Arsenal, Nico is also attracting interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United as well, with Barça maintaining calm despite being aware of the situation.
