Atletico Madrid to make next move for top defensive target after securing Robin Le Normand deal | OneFootball

Atletico Madrid have been very active in the transfer market over the last few weeks, and soon, they will announce their first signing of the summer. A deal for Robin Le Normand is all-but finalised, and an announcement of his arrival from Real Sociedad is expected very soon. While that is awaited, further deals are being worked on.

Another centre-back will be required on top of Le Normand, and Atleti’s top target is Feyenoord’s David Hancko. Talks have already taken place between the two clubs over the last few weeks, and Relevo say that another effort will be made by Los Colchoneros in the coming days.

A €35-40m fee is sought by Feyenoord, and although Atleti do not intend to reach this figure after already spending big on Le Normand, there is confidence from within that an agreement can be reached in the coming weeks. Hancko will hope so, as he is very keen to join Diego Simeone’s squad.

Signing Le Normand and Hancko would be a top start to the summer transfer window for Atletico Madrid. These moves were desperately needed, and it sets them up well to challenge Real Madrid and Barcelona in La Liga next season.
