Earlier this week, Bayern Munich announced the contract extension of star player Jamal Musiala. The young attacking midfielder signed a new contract until 2030, thus securing his long-term future at the Allianz Arena.
This was a major blow for top European giants, including Barcelona, who have been keeping an eye on the youngster for quite some time now.
A recent report from Miguel Rico has claimed that Barcelona are no longer interested in the services of Musiala.
This comes on the back of the German’s fresh contract extension, which rules out any immediate exit from the Allianz Arena.
Barcelona were targeting Musiala as an ideal player to occupy the interior midfield slot, with many eyeing him as the long-term replacement for Frenkie de Jong.

It must be noted that Hansi Flick is well aware of Musiala’s abilities, having played a key role in the youngster’s initial growth at Bayern. The youngster played under the current Barcelona head coach for the German national team as well.
Nevertheless, it appears Barcelona are over Musiala and are expected to shift their focus to other alternatives in the market.
It must be said that the club should be more concerned about signing a forward considering the fact that the team lacks any clear alternatives for Robert Lewandowski.
Meanwhile, Barcelona appear to have already bagged the services of a Bundesliga star in the form of Jonathan Tah.
The Bayer Leverkusen defender is poised to become Barça’s first major signing for next season, even though his arrival could force the club to sanction the exit of a few unwanted players in the team.
