Barcelona & Man City stars scoop awards as Spain clinch Euro 2024 glory | OneFootball

Spain are the Euro 2024 champions.

After a stellar tournament from start to finish on the part of Luis de la Fuente’s troops, they locked horns with England on Sunday evening, with glory on the line.

And, when all was said and done, it was La Roja who held their nerve.

Nico Williams opened the scoring in proceedings early in the 2nd-half, before England levelled things up a little over 15 minutes from time, through Cole Palmer.

Mikel Oyarzabal, though, soon went on to prove himself the hero.

Slipped into the penalty area courtesy of an inch-perfect ball from the left flank, the Real Sociedad man made no mistake with a sliding finish from close range.

And this proved all she wrote when it comes to the goalscoring in Berlin, as Spain, for the first time since 2012, lifted a major trophy.

Turning attentions towards individual honours, also recognised were the efforts of stars from both Manchester City, and Barcelona.

From the former, Rodri was named Player of the Tournament.

And Lamine Yamal’s brilliance was also recognised, courtesy of the award for Young Player of the Tournament.

Congratulations to Spain, European champions once more!
