Barcelona solidified their position in the top eight of the Champions League following a comfortable 3-0 victory over Brest.

However, their next Champions League assignment will be a challenging one as they take on last season’s runners-up, Borussia Dortmund.

The German giants have a solid defence, which is combined with an equally sharp attacking setup led by Serhou Guirassy.

Barcelona, therefore, are looking to have their top defenders available when they take on Dortmund on December 11.

Barça looking to have Araujo available vs Dortmund

According to Cadena SER, Barcelona team doctors are already hard at work, trying to prepare Ronald Araujo for the Dortmund clash.

The Uruguayan international has been out of action since the start of the season owing to a hamstring injury that still keeps him out to date.

However, with the plague of injuries at Barça finally starting to subside, especially with Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal set to return vs Las Palmas, the club are hoping to have Araujo back in action soon.

Araujo, who is still regarded as the most valuable defender at Barcelona, is currently in the final stage of his recovery.

The idea for Barça team doctor is to make the defender ready for the Dortmund clash so that the player can at least travel to the trip to Germany.

Araujo did try to speed up his recovery process, but the November matches might still come too soon for the Uruguayan international.

Therefore, the central defender should return in December, with the Dortmund game being identified as the ideal target.

However, Araujo could face stiff competition for a place in the starting lineup, as Barcelona have done quite well without his services this season.
