Two members of the first-team setup at Barcelona – one from the playing squad and one from the coaching staff – have on Wednesday been nominated for La Liga awards.

The first comes in the form of Lamine Yamal.

Wide-man Lamine is for his part fresh off a stellar opening to the new campaign.

Carrying his brilliance from the international stage over the summer to club level, the 17-year-old has continued to dazzle from his berth on the right flank.

All told, across Barcelona’s first four fixtures of the term, Lamine has racked up a solitary goal, alongside a head-turning four assists.

And such exploits have proven enough to earn for the Spaniard a place on the shortlist for La Liga U23 Player of the Month:

Turning attentions away from the pitch, and towards the touchline, and Hansi Flick’s stellar start to life in Spain, too, has been recognised.

The German, since replacing Xavi on the Camp Nou touchline, has wasted no time in completely revitalising his Barcelona side.

In fact, across his first four outings as Blaugrana headmaster, Flick has maintained a perfect record of four wins, featuring a hefty 13 goals scored.

And the former Bayern Munich tactician, as a result, has been nominated for La Liga Manager of the Month for August:
