Two members of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona were put through individualised training sessions by the club’s coaching staff on Sunday.

The pair in question? Mikayil Faye, and İlkay Gündoğan.

Both defender Faye, and midfielder Gündoğan, were forced to watch on from afar on Saturday night, as their teammates got Barca’s campaign up and running courtesy of a comeback downing of Valencia.

The former’s absence came amid ongoing efforts to push through his sale, whilst Gündoğan was left in Catalunya’s capital after complaining of dizziness and headaches following a blow to the head in the Blaugrana’s meeting with AS Monaco earlier in the week.

Whilst their teammates were put through their paces this morning, both, in turn, endured more specific work at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘FC Barcelona held a recovery session after their victory in Valencia, in which the players trained in different groups. Mika Faye and Ilkay Gündogan, who did not travel with the team due to the blow he suffered to his eyebrow against Monaco at the Gamper, worked individually.’
