An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is pushing for a more prominent role in the club’s first-team setup.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Pablo Torre as the player in question.

Midfielder Torre, for his part, has endured something of an underwhelming opening to the campaign, taking to the pitch just once, in a brief cameo against Real Valladolid.

After a hugely encouraging pre-season, such little game-time has no doubt marked a source of disappointment on the part of 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Girona.

As per MD, though, over the weeks and months ahead, ‘he could have more of a role due to the large number of matches that Barça will play after the international break’.

Torre is fresh off a fine pair of performances on the international stage, establishing himself as a protagonist for Santi Denia’s Spain U21s.

And as much did not go at all unnoticed on the part of Barcelona headmaster Hansi Flick, who is ready to reward the attacking midfielder with an uptick in minutes moving forward.
