With less than two weeks left before the summer transfer window closes, FC Barcelona are getting desperate in their attempts to sign a new left-winger.

Having spent the good part of the summer chasing Nico Williams, only to see him continue at Athletic Club, the Catalans are now exploring alternatives.

Rafael Leao has emerged as a target but AC Milan consider him ‘non-transferable’ and are unwilling to do business.

As such, Barcelona are also looking at another winger from Serie A, Juventus outcast Federico Chiesa as a cost-effective option.

Barcelona preparing €10 million offer

Indeed, as reported earlier today, Barcelona have intensified talks with Chiesa’s agent, Fali Ramadani, to try and find an agreement before proceeding to hold talks with Juventus.

Building on that, Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale now reports that Barça are preparing an offer worth €10 million to sign Chiesa from Juventus.

Furthermore, the report suggests that the Catalans would be offering the 26-year-old Italian international a contract worth around €6 million per year, including bonuses.

However, Juventus are said to be holding out for a fee of €15 million for the winger who is no longer a part of new manager Thiago Motta’s plans and has been told to find a new club.

Chiesa is a player that Barcelona have been interested in the past as well. While it is true that he has had troubles with injuries in the recent past, the Blaugrana are understood to have studied his latest medical reports and are satisfied by what they saw.

A deal for €10-15 million might not be the worst move for Barcelona considering their current situation.
