As much comes as Spain prepare to return to action, at Euro 2024.

Luis de la Fuente’s troops are set to kick their efforts towards glory on the continent back into gear in just a few hours’ time, when they lock horns with France with a place in the finale of the Euros on the line.

Wide-man Lamine, meanwhile, is widely expected to feature from the off once more, having played a starring role for La Roja across the tournament to date.

And, in the process, the prodigious attacker is in line to secure for himself an altogether special piece of history.

That’s according to statisticians Opta, who have confirmed that:

‘Lamine Yamal would become the youngest player to make an appearance in either a World Cup or Euro semi-final,’ if he features in any capacity on Tuesday night.

At just 16 years and 362 days old, the Barcelona youth product would surpass the record set by Brazilian great Pelé, all the way back in 1958.
