Barcelona midfielder Pedri is enjoying a remarkable season, something he has not experienced since his breakout campaign with the club.

The 22-year-old has been a driving force in the heart of the team, playing a key role in their success so far this season. He has been an influential figure in both defensive and attacking duties.

Whether it is pressing high up the pitch to recover possession, helping to build up play from deep, or making a difference in the final third by providing assists and scoring goals, he has been at his best.

His performances this season have been reminiscent of the form he displayed when he first arrived at Barcelona in the summer of 2020.

A career renewed

Under Hansi Flick, Pedri has become an irreplaceable member of the squad. Out of the 43 matches that Barcelona have played this season, he has featured in 42, with only Jules Kounde surpassing his appearance tally.

His presence on the pitch has been crucial, highlighting his durability and consistency, which were often hindered by injuries in previous campaigns.

This represents a significant improvement from previous seasons, where consistent muscle injuries limited his ability to maintain a steady run of form.

Minutes in the tank

Additionally, Pedri has contributed 320 minutes for the Spanish national team, bringing his overall tally for the season to 3,611 minutes.

He is now just 238 minutes away from matching his highest-ever total for a single season with Barcelona. During the 2020/21 campaign, his debut season, he was on the pitch for 3,529 minutes.

With at least 14 matches remaining in the season, Pedri is on course to surpass that figure comfortably.

If he continues at this rate, he could set a new personal record for minutes played in a campaign, further cementing his importance to the team and showcasing his evolution into a complete midfielder.
