Barcelona star Ronald Araújo has made clear to those behind the scenes at the club that his desire is to depart during the January transfer window.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Sunday provided a fresh insight into the situation.

Defender Araújo has of course seen his name dominate the headlines across all of Europe over the course of recent days.

This comes amid widespread confirmation that the Uruguayan has made his way to the top of the transfer wishlist at Italian heavyweights Juventus.

Barcelona, until now, have refused to budge in their stance that Araújo is not for sale, eager for the 25-year-old to put pen to paper on a new long-term contract over the months ahead.

Safe to say, then, that it will come as a blow for all associated with the Blaugrana to learn that Araújo has set his sights on a new adventure.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘The fact is that Araújo wants to leave now, with Juventus pushing to sign him in this winter transfer window. He is crystal clear. He wants to leave as soon as possible.’

Deco and the Barcelona brass, for their part, remain adamant that no formal negotiations with interested clubs will even be opened unless an offer in the region of €70 million is received.
