In a recent report, talkSPORT revealed that Bournemouth are showing interest in Aston Villa defender Kortney Hause this summer. It has been mentioned that the Cherries are eyeing a move to sign the Villans’ outcast in this off-season.

Hause’s Growing Struggles At Villa Park

Hause failed to play a prominent role for the West Midlands club in the previous campaign as he struggled to impress for them in the Premier League. The 17-year-old played in nine matches for the Villans last season, finding the back of the net once in multiple competitions.

Still, the English talent managed to impress at times on the defensive end of the field after he averaged 0.9 interceptions and 1.7 clearances per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He was even been accurate when distributing the ball from the back, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 78.8% in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).

Hause can spot the danger quickly which helps him secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball and can pass the ball well when playing his way out from the back. Standing at 1.91m, the English centre-back is a dominant presence in the air and is versatile enough to also operate as a left-back if required.

His current contract at Villa Park is set to run out in the summer of 2025. However, he is surplus to requirements at Aston Villa right now as he has fallen behind Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa and now, Diego Carlos in Steven Gerrard‘s pecking order.

At 27, Hause needs a change of scenery if he wants to make the most out of the remainder of his career. Therefore, the Villans should consider allowing him to leave in search of greener pastures during this summer transfer window.

The West Midlands club can use the fee generated from his potential sale to strengthen other areas of their squad ahead of the new campaign. Gerrard can even lower his wage bill for other incoming acquisitions in the future if he can move Hause on this summer.
