Fulham have won only two of their last 15 meetings with Bournemouth, with the Cherries seeking a third successive home win over the Cottagers for the very first time.
Fulham have not featured in Europe since 2011; Bournemouth have never previously qualified for UEFA competition. Both though are very much in the hunt this time round, making this Monday night meeting by the South Coast vital for both.
Of the pair, Fulham kick off three points better off and certainly in better form. Last Sunday, the Whites defeated champions-elect Liverpool 3-2 at Craven Cottage, thanks to goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi and Rodrigo Muniz, all in a 13-minute first half spree.
Marco Silva's side have won five of their last eight, thereby climbing up to eighth, occupying the final potential European spot. With a West London derby to come against fierce rivals Chelsea on Sunday, this could be a crucial week for the Cottagers, starting with this Monday night trip to Dorset.
As for Bournemouth, they were very much on course to qualify for Europe for the first time ever not so long ago, only for their form to evaporate. Last Sunday, Evanilson's brace helped the Cherries earn a 2-2 draw with West Ham at the London Stadium.
Nevertheless, Andoni Iraola's side are now without a win in six, yielding just two points from these outings, thereby sliding down to tenth, having been fifth as recently as 15 February. Bournemouth's next five fixtures are against Palace, Man United, Villa, Arsenal and Man City, before hosting Leicester on the final day, which is not easy, underlining that they could really do with a win at Dean Court.
Andoni Iraola is without Ryan Christie, Justin Kluivert, Marcus Tavernier, Luis Sinisterra and Enes Ünal due to injury for, what will be, their first fixture for nine days. Right-back Julián Araujo was an unused substitute at the London Stadium, now hoping to feature for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury all the way back on 9 November.
Further forward, Alex Scott could continue to get the nod over David Brooks as the number ten. Antoine Semenyo will sit out their next two fixtures, Palace (A) and Man United (H) if booked.
Bournemouth predicted lineup vs Fulham: (4-2-3-1): Arrizabalaga; Smith, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Adams, Cook, Scott, Ouattara, Semenyo; Evanilson.
Evanilson's double in East London took his tally to 11 for the season, bagging four in his last four, also on target at Craven Cottage back in December.
As for Fulham, in the continued absence of Reiss Nelson and Harry Wilson, Ryan Sessegnon was deployed further forward against Liverpool, rewarding Marco Silva's decision by scoring the equaliser. Meantime, fellow-scorer Rodrigo Muniz is once again likely to get the nod over Raúl Jiménez in attack.
Lastly, Saša Lukić, while not in danger of a suspension, has 12 yellow cards to his name this season. The Serbian requires three more to break the single-season Premier League record of 14. In case you were wondering, this record is jointly held by former Fulham fan favourite João Palhinha (22/23) as well as Étienne Capoue (18/19), José Cholevas (16/17), Lee Cattermole (14/15), Cheick Tioté (10/11), Robbie Savage (01/02) and Mark Hughes (98/99).
Rodrigo Muniz has scored in three successive Premier League games, taking his tally to 11 for the season, so will his scoring spree continue?
This Monday night match-up is very tough to call, hence why we're sitting on the fence and forecasting a draw that doesn't really help either Bournemouth 1-1 Fulham.
