Davide Calabria’s future at Milan is far from certain as negotiations for his contract renewal are stalling, and he could decide to put an end to his 11-season stay at San Siro, as reported by transfer expert Matteo Moretto.

Calabria is currently one of Milan’s captains and has been a regular starter for the Rossoneri for several seasons, but his status changed this summer when the club decided to sign Emerson Royal from Tottenham, forcing him to fight for a place as a right-back.

Calabria’s contract extension with Milan in doubt

Calabria’s current deal with Milan expires in June 2025 and talks with the club over a potential contract extension are currently stalling, as Moretto wrote in his Caught Offside Daily Briefing column.

Without progress in the negotiations, the 27-year-old would be ready to look for alternative destinations, as he will be free to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Calabria was approached by Galatasaray last August but he wasn’t reportedly keen on moving to the Turkish Super League and hasn’t since changed his mind.

The Italian full-back saw his playing time limited during this start to the season under new manager Paulo Fonseca due to injuries and competition from Emerson Royal, as he only played three games across Serie A and the Champions League.
