Gudmundsson was one of the standout attacking players in Serie A last season.

The Icelandic international scored fourteen goals and made seventeen assists for Genoa.

Therefore, it is not too much of a surprise to see Gudmundsson at the centre of transfer rumours.

At the moment, the 26-year-old remains a Genoa player. Therefore, he will begin preseason in the Ligurian club’s training camp.

However, Genoa are naturally bracing for the possibility of offers for Gudmundsson over the next couple months.

The Gazzetta report that the Grifone will expect a fee of €30-35 million for the Icelander.

Moreover, the newspaper anticipate, Genoa could accept a player-plus-cash bid. But only one which involves a player they already have an interest in signing.

Champions League A Key Factor In Decision For Albert Gudmundsson

Inter’s interest in Gudmundsson is no secret.

The Nerazzurri reportedly see the former AZ Alkmaar forward as the ideal player to give their attack a different look for next season.

Naturally, the price tag would be a hurdle for Inter. And reportedly, they may have to offload Marko Arnautovic in order to sign Gudmundsson.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina are reportedly keen to reignite their chase of Gudmundsson from the January transfer window.

In any event, everything could come down to Gudmundsson’s decision.

According to the Gazzetta, the Icelander wants to play in the Champions League next season.

The newspaper report that Gudmundsson has already turned down a move to a team in the Premier League that will not be participating in next season’s edition of the competition.
