Chivas have loaned young striker César Huerta to Morelia in order for him to gain some much-needed first team experience.
The Guadalajara club have overhauled their squad ahead of the 2020 Clausura, leaving manager Luis Fernando Tena with a wealth of options up front.
José Juan Macías will be first-choice striker when the season starts, followed by Oribe Peralta, Alexis Vega and Ronaldo Cisneros.
That left Huerta fifth in the pecking order and with very little chance of making an impact in the coming months.
As a result, it was deemed a good deal for both parties that he join Monarcas.
Chivas fully expect him to return to the club once his loan deal is completed, and the hope is that his time at Morelia will have a positive effect on his development.
