He will sign a four-year contract which contains an option for a fifth-year, and he will reportedly be paid €5.5m per season including bonuses, although other reports have suggested it will be €4.5m.

Milan will need to pay the €13m release clause to Atletico Madrid for Morata and then the deal can go through. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been very keen on signing Morata and played a big role in convincing him to come back to Italy.

Morata will return to Madrid having won the 2024 European Championship with Spain and he is going to try and speak directly with club president Enrique Cerezo to let him know that he will be leaving for Milan.

Once he has done that, Milan will pay the clause and set the wheels in motion. It is thought that it will take around 48 hours for the financial technicalities and then the medical could take place, either in Madrid or Milan.
