The match officials for Leeds United’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Derby County on Sunday have been announced, with Andy Davies set to take charge at Pride Park.
A former footballer previously with spells at Gillingham, Portsmouth and Yeovil Town, Davies turned to refereeing after injury curtailed his playing career aged 28.
Since then, the Hampshire-based official has gone on to take charge of over 200 matches in the second tier and 16 ties in both the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
The Whites have enjoyed strong form when the Select Group 2 referee has overseen their matches, winning five of the eight games played and drawing two.
He has not been involved in a Leeds fixture since a 2019 home victory over Brentford, however, which saw Eddie Nketiah’s late goal separate the two sides at Elland Road.
Derby, meanwhile, have a mixed record in their 15 matches Davies has been in the middle of, winning six times, drawing four and losing on five occasions. Most recently, Davies officiated the Rams’ goalless draw with Burnley at Turf Moor.
