He instead had the chance to rest after his efforts for club and country over the past two seasons. Erling Haaland missed two months of last season due to a foot injury. His time off over the summer would’ve given the striker the chance to rest any ailments and should see him come into City’s pre-season fit and raring to go. That could be bad news for City’s rivals heading into next season.

The prospect of a fit and rested Erling Haaland is a tantalising one for Manchester City and their fans. When Haaland is fully fit and firing he is arguably the most dangerous striker in world football.
