This weekend, Simon Jones of Mail Sport reported that Manchester United are monitoring Paris Saint-Germain left-back Nuno Mendes, who is under contract until 2026.

Last summer, Manchester United pushed to sign midfielder Manuel Ugarte, and now, in 2025, the Red Devils might have plans to have another former Sporting Lisbon player on the squad.

With Ruben Amorim now in charge at United, it wouldn’t be surprising if he targets Portuguese players who align with his football philosophy. As a result, expect rumors to start circulating in the weeks and months ahead.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Mendes is poised to sign a new contract with PSG. This information will end speculation about a move to Manchester United to reunite with Amorim, as he will be staying at the club.

This season, Mendes has played 10 matches across all competitions, scoring one goal and registering two assists. Transfermarkt also puts the player’s transfer value at €55 million, but it appears not amount will be enough to convince the Ligue 1 side to sell the player.
