To had to their injury woes, Quinten Timber joins Gernot Trauner in the treatment room as the club confirm he will be out for the “foreseeable future”, Voetbal International reports.

The midfielder suffered a metatarsal injury in a friendly against Eredivisie side FC Emmen which could well see the 21-year-old out for large part of the New Year.

“The nature of the injury makes it difficult at the moment to indicate exactly when Timber can be expected back,” the club have confirmed.

“After extensive medical examination it appears that there is a chance that he may be available again sooner.” Feyenoord expects more clarity about this in the coming weeks.

Timber was a regular feature in Feyenoord’s team in Eredivisie and Europa League outings so the injury is thought to have forced the recruitment to explore the possibility of bringing in a midfielder to provide depth for manager Arne Slot.
