Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bove is now awake following an induced coma from his collapse on the field on Sunday night.
The 22-year-old was rushed to Careggi Hospital after dropping to the ground unconscious 17 minutes into his side's clash with Inter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
The game was suspended as a result of the traumatic incident, with Fiorentina now issuing an update on Bove's health.
"Following an uneventful night, Edoardo was awakened and extubated this morning," read a club statement.
"He is currently awake, alert and oriented. The doctors who treated him have confirmed that diagnostic tests are ongoing."
