2. Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96 have confirmed that one of their players has tested positive for the coronavirus, which is currently sweeping the world.
The player in question is 23-year-old defender Timo Hübers and he is currently under quarantine at home.
The club believe that Hübers became infected last Saturday evening at an event in Hildesheim and since the diagnosis, has had no contact with his team-mates.
As a result, Hannover insist that it cannot be assumed that the infection has spread among the rest of the squad or staff.
However, all who have been in contact with Hübers within Die Roten are also being tested as a precautionary measure.
The player is not available for selection for the weekend clash with Dynamo Dresden, which the rest of the team continue to prepare for as normal.
Public training has been cancelled for the time being, as have any scheduled media and PR appointments.
