Manchester United are expected to be without several key players when they face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Red Devils have had a dreadful league campaign, and they have picked up just 29 points after 24 matches into the season.

The club have fared better than Spurs, who are behind them with 27 points, but they have suffered an untimely blow ahead of tomorrow’s encounter in north London.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that Kobbie Mainoo had picked up an injury while Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are serious doubts to face Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The Red Devils could be without three key midfielders, and they have suffered a further setback with Amad Diallo possibly sidelined for the season with an ankle ligament injury.

With this in mind, we expect two forgotten stars in Casemiro and Christian Eriksen to make the starting line-up against Spurs tomorrow.

Casemiro has been on the fringes of the first team and has found himself as an unused substitute in 13 games under manager Ruben Amorim since November.

Amorim has personally acknowledged that Casemiro doesn’t fit into his plans, but the Brazilian is poised to start with no other defensive midfielders possibly being fit.

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes could accompany Casemiro in the heart of the midfield with Christian Eriksen operating from the number 10 role alongside Alejandro Garnacho.

Eriksen started the first game under Amorim, but he has since been used sparingly off the bench due to his reduced mobility. That could change against his former employers.

Amorim has the choice of playing Joshua Zirkzee in attacking midfield with Rasmus Hojlund upfront. However, the latter’s poor form should see Eriksen start with Zirkzee leading the line instead.

With four unfortunate injuries over the last 48 hours, United now face a daunting challenge to beat Spurs away from home on Sunday afternoon.
