In the event of Les Bleus beating Croatia and qualifying for the Nations League Final Four, France won’t host the tournament showpiece next June. According to a report this Wednesday from Le Figaro, UEFA have rejected the French FA’s bid to host the European bid in a blow to FA president Philippe Diallo, who is currently seeking to continue his mandate as head of French football. France planned to host the semi-finals, the 3rd place playoffs and the 2024-2025 Nations League final in the Greater Paris area with the games held in Parc des Princes and Stade de France.

However, UEFA have reportedly rejected France’s bid in favor of either Germany or Italy. Die Mannschaft and La Squadra will lock horns in the quarter-finals next March with the winning nation set to be confirmed as the Final Four’s host. Le Figaro adds that UEFA’s choice puts into question France’s weight in international instances. That being said, the last European final held in Saint-Denis – the 2022 Champions League final – proved disastrous for France, UEFA as well as for Liverpool and Real Madrid fans alike.
