INEOS chiefs are seemingly doing their utmost behind the scenes to ensure Erik ten Hag’s squad is adequately bolstered for the campaign ahead.

Given that May’s FA Cup final triumph ensured the Reds will be playing European football in 2024/2025, having as much depth as possible will only aid the manager in his quest to claim a third trophy in as many seasons in the dugout.

As such, the midfield could certainly use some revitalising. United are said to have ended their pursuit of Manuel Ugarte – despite agreeing personal terms with the player – unless Paris Saint-Germain lower their demands. That is, however, unlikely to happen, as they’re certainly not a club that’s struggling to make ends meet.

United take first steps in pursuit of Premier League ace

Now, a report from Brazilian media emerged on Monday evening via TNT Sports, which claims that Nottingham Forest’s Danilo has been the subject of an approach from United.

AC Milan have also established their interest, while Forest are ‘willing to negotiate’ if it looks as though their valuation of €40 million (£34m) will be met.

Danilo, 23, joined the East Midlands outfit from Palmeiras in 2023 and has since racked up 42 Premier League appearances across two seasons.
