West Ham chairman David Sullivan appears determined to drag the Julen Lopetegui nightmare on even longer.

The former Wolves boss has endured a dreadful period since taking over from David Moyes in the summer, with West Ham showing no improvements whatsoever, as the Spaniard clings on to his job.

Many fans have called for the club to act, by admitting it’s been a dreadful move and look to rectify the situation as the season drifts out of view for many.

Yesterday’s latest shambles saw West Ham fall to a 4-1 loss to Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola’s side nowhere near their best, to easily dismantle another tactical disaster from Lopetegui.

Club insider ExWHUEmployee of The West Ham Way, spoke to a ‘top senior source’, who is understood to be Sullivan, who again seems hell bent on avoiding making a call on the Head Coaches time.

“Puts him further under pressure, we are letting in too many goals and look far too fragile,” was the response to Ex’s question on Lopetegui’s future.

The source also dismissed the rumours of another David Moyes return, with the Scot at the match yesterday. However it’s understood that Graham Potter is the firm favourite to take over should the club pull the plug on Lopetegui.

“Not really, as much as I like him, we started letting in lots of goals in the last six months under him,” said Sullivan on Moyes.
