AC Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca seems to have finally settled on the team that he will field from minute one against Fiorentina tonight at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

The absences for Milan coming into the game are already known, with Alessandro Florenzi, Ismael Bennacer and Marco Sportiello all still recovering from surgery, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Luka Jovic and Davide Calabria will miss the game due to various knocks.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) has a back four of Emerson Royal, Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez ahead of Mike Maignan.

The paper believes that it will be a 4-2-3-1 system with Youssouf Fofana and Tijjani Reijnders the men in the double pivot, then Alvaro Morata ahead of them in the playmaker role.

Christian Pulisic should be on the right wing and Rafael Leao on the left, with Tammy Abraham leading the line as the centre-forward.

Fiorentina meanwhile are tipped to use a 3-4-2-1 system with Kean as the striker then Bove and Gudmundsson in behind. The Milan loanee Yacine Adli is tipped to get the not with Mandragora injured.

Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Gabbia, Tomori, Hernandez; Fofana, Reijnders; Pulisic, Morata, Leao; Abraham.

Probable Fiorentina XI (3-4-2-1): De Gea; Martinez Quarta, Ranieri, Biraghi; Dodo, Cataldi, Adli, Gosens; Bove, Gudmundsson; Kean.
