Genk have confirmed the signing of Hyeon-gyu Oh from Celtic on a deal that will run for four years. The 23-year-old striker leaves the Scottish club after just a year and a half, having joined them in January of 2023. The reported fee is said to be around €2.7m, just under the €2.8m that Celtic were said to have paid to Suwon Bluewings last winter. Genk’s official announcement of Oh claims that he was their top priority this summer as they are still looking for a replacement for Paul Onuachu.

Oh, a South Korean international, leaves Celtic having made 47 appearances and scored 12 goals. The majority of these came during the first few months of his time with the club, where he scored seven. Last season he scored five in the Scottish Premiership. Prior to joining Celtic, the forward had scored 14 goals in 53 games for Suwon Bluewings. His best season at the club was during the 2022 season, where he scored all 14 of his goals in 38 games.
