Getafe have reached a deal with Barcelona for Carles Alena.
Marca says Getafe will make Alena's stay at the club permanent as they have reached a principal agreement with Barcelona to sign the Catalan midfielder on a five-year deal in exchange for five million euros.
The Blaugrana were initially asking for eight million euros to offload Alena, whose contract at the Camp Nou comes to an end in 2022. However, Barcelona lowered their demands after agreeing to retain a percentage of a future sale.
Alena joined Getafe on loan for the second half of the 2020/21 season and was a primary target for new coach Michel, who replaced Jose Bordalas this summer.
Alena is the latest Getafe signing after the arrivals of Vitolo, who joined from Atletico Madrid on loan, Mexican striker JJ Macias, who signed from Chivas Guadalajara, and centre-back Stefan Mitrovic, who joined from Strasbourg.
