Wales equalised through Hannah Cain away to Sweden to record an excellent draw in the UEFA Women’s Nations League.
Safia Middleton-Patel made a couple of good first-half saves and Sweden had to settle for it being goalless at the break, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd missing their best opportunity late in the opening period.
Middleton-Patel parried a powerful strike from Filippa Angeldahl before gathering at the second attempt, but it was from Angeldahl’s corner on the hour mark that Magda Eriksson headed Sweden one up.

Wales were level midway through the second half, Rachel Rowe with an inch-perfect pass for Cain to go round the keeper and net via the far post.
Ffion Morgan got through on goal but could not beat goalkeeper Jennifer Falk, moments later Middleton-Patel made a crucial block with her leg to deny Rytting Kaneryd.
The young Welsh keeper made another stop, then a double save from a corner in which Swedish appeals for a penalty were turned down.
Cain saw her half-volley saved after being found on a quick break by Ffion Morgan, at the other end Madelen Janogy headed wide from in front of the goal.
