Harry McKirdy was one of the great entertainers in League Two last season and earned a move to the Scottish Premiership after contributing 23 goals and ten assists for Swindon Town in 2021/22.
The 25-year-old has not been able to replicate that impact since moving to Scotland in just seven league appearances for Hibernian this term.
McKirdy’s only start so far for Hibs came in a 6-1 defeat away to reigning champions Celtic, in which the former Port Vale man was substituted at halftime.
The attacker is comfortable playing anywhere across a front three, but at the moment is very much part of Lee Johnson’s second string.
The Hibees are sitting eighth in the table right now, they finished seventh last season before the league split in half, and they will resume action with a trip to Ibrox to face Rangers on December 15th.
McKirdy signed a three-year deal at the back end of the summer transfer window, and with that in mind, it should not be too much of a concern that he has started slowly, with there often being an adaptation period when playing in another country.
There is a significant amount of attacking depth in the squad though under Johnson, which may suggest that a loan move away at some stage is not out of the question if a lack of regular playing time persists.

There would be plenty of interest in League One and Two if McKirdy was to become available, even if it was only on a temporary basis, and having never played outside of England before this season, it may be an option that the 25-year-old would be in favour of.
However, for now, he is still a crucial part of Johnson’s squad rather than his starting XI and has time during the World Cup break to prove his worth on the training ground.
