Lazio have confirmed that full-back Elseid Hysaj was diagnosed with a lesion to the femoral bicep in his left thigh.
The player pulled up clutching the back of his leg during the Serie A victory against Cagliari at the Unipol Domus on Monday evening.
He immediately seemed distraught, aware that this would not be a simple injury setback.
His fear was proved correct, because Lazio released a statement this evening announcing that he underwent tests at the Villa Mafalda clinic, which showed a medium lesion to the femoral bicep in his left thigh.
This type of injury generally requires at least a month to six weeks on the sidelines, so it rules Hysaj out of several big games.

It is only the latest in a series of injuries that Lazio coach Marco Baroni has been forced to deal with in recent weeks.
They are already missing Nuno Tavares, Manuel Lazzari and Matias Vecino, all of them with muscular injuries.
Lazio are now short on full-backs, as Luca Pellegrini was cut from their Serie A squad list.
