So far it has been a quiet transfer window for Manchester City. If there are no notable departures from City it may stay a quiet window for the world champions. But despite this, there is one signing that appears readymade for the world champions to make.

As Spain became European champions with a 2-1 win over England they had a host of players who lit up the tournament. One such player was RB Leipzig playmaker Dani Olmo. Olmo scored 3 goals and added 2 assists in 6 appearances for Spain during the tournament as per stats from uefa.com. He was a key player for Spain in their run at the tournament that culminated in their victory last night. That form showed just how good Olmo can be and it also showed that he could easily slot into Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Besides his talent, the release clause in Dani Olmo’s contract is a relative bargain for a player of his quality. Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that the release clause in Olmo’s contract is €60 million. Furthermore, Romano adds that the clause expires on July 20. Based on this information a potential Manchester City move for the Spanish international is easy to complete. Lastly, Romano also reports that at this stage there have been no talks with Manchester City in regards to a possible move for Olmo.

It may depend on if Manchester City see Dani Olmo as a player they must sign. In a squad with Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva, Oscar Bobb, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku there is a premium on spots in Pep Guardiola’s starting lineup. But is Olmo a player too good not to sign? That could be the decisive factor in any potential move from Manchester City for the RB Leipzig midfielder. Olmo could come in a provide support for Kevin De Bruyne as the Belgian international gets on in years. He could also play on either wing so there are obvious positives to the world champions moving for Olmo.

What the future holds for Dani Olmo is a story to watch for until July 20. He appears to be ideally suited to playing at Manchester City. Now it is a matter of waiting to see if the champions do decide to move for th RB Leipzig playmaker.
