Inter’s Yann Sommer has suffered a fractured thumb, which will keep him off the field for at least three weeks.
Inter confirmed Sommer’s injury with an official statement on Thursday.
“Yann Sommer underwent medical tests this morning at the Istituto Humanitas di Rozzano which revealed a fracture to his right thumb,” the Nerazzurri said.
“The necessary therapy will be decided in the coming days.”

Sommer is expected to miss several games. Sky Sport reports that the Swiss international will likely remain out of action for at least three weeks.
Sommer has played 25 Serie A matches this season, conceding 24 goals and keeping 11 clean sheets. In all competitions, Sommer has made 35 appearances, conceding 28 goals and keeping 19 clean sheets.
His injury means summer signing Josep Martinez will get the nod between the sticks in the next few games.
Ironically, the Nerazzurri meet his ex-club Genoa at San Siro on February 22 in their next Serie A game.
The defending Serie A champions will also meet Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals next week before a crucial away game at Napoli.
