Inter are bracing themselves for the possibility of a big offer for defender de Vrij.

The 32-year-old former Lazio defender is on the radar of Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad. Former Inter and AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is keen on making him this summer’s big defensive reinforcement.

Therefore, Inter are aware that they could face a decision as far as whether to cash in on de Vrij.

The player himself is hardly pushing to leave. However, things could certainly change in the event of a massive offer from Al-Ittihad.

Therefore, Inter are planning for the contingency that they are to sell de Vrij and need to replace the Dutchman.

And according to the Gazzetta, one of Inter’s main ideas would be to make a move for a former target who is currently at Bayern.

Inter Could Reignite Interest In Bayern Defender Kim Min-Jae If De Vrij Leaves

Inter have already targeted Bayern defender Kim Min-Jae in the past.

The South Korean international had been on the Nerazzurri’s radar in the summer of 2022, when he was a Fenerbahce player.

Min-Jae had been a target for Inter to replace either Milan Skriniar or Alessandro Bastoni if they were to have left that summer.

But in the end, the South Korean joined Napoli.

Min-Jae was a key player for the Partenopei as they won the Serie A title for the first time in over three decades during the 2022-23 season.

However, the former Fenerbahce defender did not stick around.

Last summer, Min-Jae joined Bayern Munich in a big money deal.

However, things have not quite gone according to plan for the 27-year-old in Bavaria. He lost his place in the starting eleven fairly early on in the season.

Meanwhile, Bayern have reinforced in defense already this summer. They have brought in defender Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart.

And reportedly, Bayer Leverkusen and Germany defender Jonathan Tah is also on the Bavarians’ radar.

Therefore, Bayern could be ready to offload Min-Jae already. Even for a fraction of the approximately €50 million fee that they paid for him last summer.

If Inter were to sell de Vrij to Al-Ittihad, they would expect a fee of around €15 million to do so.

That could bring the Nerazzurri some way to being able to make a move for Min-Jae this summer.
