Inter Milan are moving full steam ahead in their hot pursuit of Talleres Cordoba’s exciting defensive prospect, Tomas Palacios.

According to Sky Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, the Italian giants will hold ‘crunch’ talks with Independiente Rivadavia on Wednesday.

They’re ready to put a €6.5 million bid on the table.

Palacios has been at the top of Beppe Marotta’s list of priorities since the beginning of August.

Inter are in the market for a new defender after losing Canada international Tajon Buchanan to a long-term injury.

The 21-year-old has emerged as an ideal solution for the future.

However, the youngster could have a chance to shine with the first team this season.

With Simone Inzaghi’s side short of reliable options at the back, Palacios is an emergency signing.

Hailed by his Independiente manager Martin Cicotello as a rising star, the highly-rated defender has already agreed to join Inter

Several clubs in the Bundesliga have also displayed interest in Palacios.

But despite drawing inquiries from Borussia Monchengladbach and Stuttgart, the talented center-back wants a Serie A move.

But his parent club, Talleres, will soon sanction his permanent switch to the Estadio Bautista Gargantini.

From there, the rest is pretty much straightforward. Independiente will make an instant profit from his impending transfer to Inter.

Since they’ll likely pay Talleres €4m for Palacios, it’s a €2m profit in a matter of days.

He will probably need some time to adapt to the new surroundings.
