Amid a disappointing campaign, which is likely to see them miss out on a spot in Europe, Lyon have nevertheless seen several players emerge as regular performers under Laurent Blanc with some impressive performances.
One of these is defender Sinaly Diomandé, who is now a fixture of the World Cup winner’s three-man backline alongside Castello Lukena and Dejan Lovren. This season, the 22-year-old has 23 league appearances for Les Gones.
Given new owner John Textor will likely need to make some sales this summer to appease French football’s financial watchdog, though, the Ivorian could be set to leave this summer after three seasons with the senior side.
According to Foot Mercato tonight, no less than six clubs have enquired about the possibility of a transfer, from Germany, Italy and Spain. Specifically, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt, Getafe, Rayo Vallecano, Bologna and Sassuolo. The two Bundesliga clubs could potentially offer him European football, unlike the four others. There are no offers on the table yet, but the clubs’ interest could lead to bids in the coming weeks.
