FC Barcelona secured their grip on the La Liga title yesterday as they got a 4-3 win over Real Madrid. With this win, the Blaugranes are seven points ahead of the second-placed Merengues, with only three games left to play.
Hansi Flick once again opted for his regular starters in the midfield for this game, as Frenkie de Jong, Pedri, and Dani Olmo started. However, Gavi was also able to get some minutes in the last phase of the game.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spanish midfielder also talked to the media after this win. He admitted that Barcelona did not start the match in a very good manner, but went on to highlight the team’s mentality to get another win after coming from behind:
“It’s clear that we didn’t start the match very well. It’s happened to us before; it’s something we need to improve. The important thing is our mentality and being able to turn the score around.”
The Spaniard was also asked about the refereeing controversies from this game, but he did not want to comment on this matter:
“Regarding the referee… Everyone has seen the match, and there’s not much to say.”

After this match and the media talk, Gavi also took to social media to express his happiness on the team’s win. He posted a picture of himself with Dani Olmo, Ronald Araujo, and Pedri, with the following words:
“Always 100% with you!!! 💙❤️ What a match, team!!!!! Incredible what we’ve done this season!!! Força Barça forever!!!”
Although he did not get to play a lot of minutes, Gavi would still have enjoyed himself playing and winning against Barcelona’s arch-rivals, Real Madrid. Hopefully, he will get a more prominent position in the squad in the upcoming games, especially as the Blaugranes now have the title firmly in their grasp and Flick can distribute minutes to some of the less-used players.
