Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano gave the deal the Here We Go treatment on Saturday afternoon, posting that an agreement has been reached between all parties involved.

A medical has been scheduled ahead of Frimpong signing a five-year contract with the Merseyside outfit.

Having come through the academy at Manchester City, Frimpong will be registered as a homegrown player in Liverpool’s squad next season.

The 24-year-old joined Leverkusen from Celtic in January 2021 and has since gone on to prove himself as arguably the best wing-back in world football thanks to his impressive displays in Germany, dazzling spectators with his attacking play out wide.

Frimpong was one of the key players in their incredible 2023/24 campaign as they won the Bundesliga and German Cup double undefeated. They also reached the Europa League final, which they lost to Atalanta.

The Netherlands international will compete for the starting berth at right-back with Conor Bradley, who signed a new four-year deal this week.

Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz could be following him to Liverpool this summer after the club met with the Germany international’s representatives.
