With only a few days left in the winter transfer window, FC Barcelona are still looking to obtain some funds that will allow them to land an offensive reinforcement ahead of this second half of the season.

The Catalans were looking to sell some of their non-essential players in this window, but so far, no departure has materialized, which has kept the Blaugranes from finalizing the arrival of Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United.

In such a scenario, there can be another source from which Barcelona can get some money in their coffers, i.e., the sale of some of their former players on whom they still have some rights.

In this regard, SPORT reports that one such player who can possibly change sides in the remaining days of this winter transfer window is the Senegalese center-back, Mikayil Faye.

The Turkish team Fenerbahçe SK, with José Mourinho as their coach, is looking to sign the former Barcelona Atletic defender who is now playing at Rennes.

Fenerbahçe have recently made two defensive incorporations, Diego Carlos and Milan Škriniar. However, the Portuguese trainer is looking for yet another defensive addition, who offers more versatility and aggressiveness, and Faye is a preferred candidate.

The Senegalese joined the French side Stade Rennes last summer but his time there has not been going exactly as planned. Up to now, he has only 10 appearances to his name, with only 6 starts, and his performances have also not been up to the expected standards.

Barcelona sold the young defender to Rennes for €10.3 million, but kept several rights on him, including a buyback right for €25 million.

They also have a right to obtain 30% of any future transfer fee paid for him, and thus, the Blaugrana will be looking forward to a change of scenery for the Senegalese defender this month after he has also been linked with Bayer Leverkusen recently.
