AC Milan have cast their gaze towards the South American market and they have been left impressed by Richard Rios, according to one journalist.

According to the columnist Diego Firmino, Milan have set their sights on Richard Rios of Palmeiras, as well as Roma and Fiorentina and a club from the Premier League, who remain unnamed at the moment.

However, the Brazilian club are asking for €30m to let him go, because in reality they would like to try and keep him and he is under contract for another two years so there is no immediate pressure to sell at present.

Standing 1.85m tall, the Colombian is a midfielder with good physical strength and who brings dynamism to the middle of the pitch. He is also good technically and can unleash shots from distance.

Both at Palmeiras and with Colombia he plays in a two-man midfield, so he would have no problem integrating into Paulo Fonseca’s 4-2-3-1 at Milan or even into a 4-3-3, as one of the players either side of the No.6.

With Palmeiras he has so far racked up 82 games, five goals and two assists. In October 2023 his debut with Colombia came, and for his national team he has 12 appearances, two goals and an assist so far. His last goal for thems was scored in the Copa America quarter-finals against Panama.
