Ivan Juric insists Saud Abdulhamid still needs time at Roma: ‘He comes from a different world.’

The 25-year-old became the first Saudi player to join a Serie A club in August. He made his Roma debut on Thursday, coming off the bench in a 1-1 draw against Athletic Club at the Stadio Olimpico.

He was not entirely convincing and Juric warned the fans and the media that the Saudi international still needs time to settle in.

“He comes from a different world. He has the appropriate skill sets, but it takes time to adapt,” the Giallorossi boss said at a pre-match press conference on Saturday.

“I introduced him the other day to have an idea. He will improve with time. We must be cautious regarding players such as [him and] Hermoso. He hasn’t played for a long time, and playing him in two consecutive matches could be risky.”
